This ozone generator creates ozone at a rate of 7 p.p.m. or 1.5 grams/hour. An ozone generator creates and disperses ozone into unoccupied rooms to eliminate or greatly reduce odors caused by smoke (cigarettes, kitchen fires...) and pet problems. It can eliminate the odor from molds, mildew, pollen, airborne bacteria, etc. if the source of the odor has first been eliminated. This ozone generator is most effective when used one room at a time, or in a building where the ozone is able to flow through heating or A/C ductwork. Sufficient air flow is important to properly distribute the ozone. Ozone is a powerful oxidizer and should not be allowed to come into contact with people, pets or plants. It is recommended to use this generator in vehicles for no more than 10 minutes at a time, as ozone can degrade plastics quickly! When ozone comes into contact with airborne bacteria (what you are actually smelling), it is rendered inactive through oxidation. You are left with pure, clean oxygen. When used properly, an ozone generator is very safe and effective. If not used properly, it can be harmful. It is classified by OSHA and the EPA as an upper respiratory irritant. Use this ozone generator only in unoccupied areas! Vacate the entire area for the period that the generator is in use. Prolonged breathing of ozone can cause shortness of breath, chest pain, coughing and throat irritation. It can exaggerate asthma and other chronic respiratory illnesses.
